Oyakodon 親子丼



  1. 50 ml of water with Dashi
  2. Mirin
  3. Soy sauce
  4. Sugar
  5. Yellow onion
  6. Boneless chicken breast
  7. 2 eggs
  8. Parsley
  9. Steaming rice


  1. Mix the water, dashi, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar together
  2. Heat the mixture under medium heat for a while in a sauce pan
  3. Chop the 1/2 an onion coarsely and add it onto the pan
  4. After a short while, add in the chicken breasts, remember to chop them into bite size chunks
  5. After the chicken is cooked, add into 2 lightly beaten eggs, and let it simmer (not till the egg fully cooked, but half cooked)
  6. Add in parsley
  7. Slide the mixture from the sauce pan to a steaming bowl of rice, and let the hot rice cook the rest of the egg.
  8. Enjoy ! The sauce tastes sweet and umami (savory), paired with the rice, I can eat it all day long.
