Pulled pork sandwich



Give a man a slow cooker… this is what you got

SONY DSCIngredients:

  • Pork shoulder, 1 kg
  • Cinnamon, 1 tbs
  • Cumin, 1 tbs
  • Chili pepper, 1 tbs
  • Chicken broth, 1 cup
  • 2 yellow onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • Brown sugar, 2 tbs
  • Honey, 1 tbs
  • Salt, 1 tbs
  • BBQ sauce, 1 cup

  1. Dump the garlic and onion onto the bottom of the slow cooker pot
  2. Pour in the chicken broth
  3. Mix all the spices (except for the BBQ sauce) together, and rub the pork with the mixture
  4. Place the pork on top of the garlic / onion layer, then slow cook it for 10 hours upwards
  5. After 10 hours, first strain the liquid from the pot. Set the liquid aside
  6. Use a fork to shred the pork into pieces, the pork should be tender enough by now.
  7. Place the pork back into the pot, and pour in enough of the liquid to cover the meat
  8. Pour in the BBQ sauce, and cook it in slow cooker for another 2 hours or so
  9. Serve it with toasted bread, cheddar cheese, roasted onions, etc.
